Federal Intervention to Support Rural Broadly Accessible Institutions

The purpose of this project, funded by the Joyce Foundation, is to develop a policy brief that makes the case for federal intervention to support rural broadly accessible colleges and universities. The policy brief analyzes the contributions of rural broadly accessible institutions to postsecondary education equity, access, and attainment. It also examines the contributions of these institutions to regional workforce development and public health. The brief considers how COVID-19 and associated effects threaten these contributions. The brief advocates for federal support for these institutions to ensure their survival through forward-thinking policy recommendations.
